Eliad Bar (Berent) was born in Haifa to Tzvi and Tova, holocaust survivors who immigrated to Israel shortly after it was established. After graduating from high school at "Ort Kiryat Bialik", he joined the Intelligence Corps. In 1974 he lived in Tel Aviv and studied Painting and Sculpture at the "Avni Institute of Art and Design". Among his teachers were Yehezkel Streichman, Yaacov Wexler and Zvi Tadmor. In 1978 he studied at "Ein Hod", an artists' colony. Some of his teachers were the painter Sima Salonim, woodcut artist Jacob Pins and Shoshana Heimann. In 1984 Eliad established a tapestry factory. The giant wall rugs were made by his designs. Many of them still hang in dozens of public places. In 1996 he joined the "The Painters and Sculptors Association in Israel" (Haifa). In 2000 joined IMPACT, the Professional Visual Artists Association, Israel (Tel Aviv).
